Wealth Building: Planning, committing, enjoying life!
The best laid plans are the ones that you have control over.
Wealth Building
We hear this phrase a lot in social media and advertising. Maybe LIFE Building is a better term. Whether we admit it or not we all are on a “plan”, it is a matter of how much we are in control of it!
first step: Get involved in the plan
Microwaves and air fryers have ruined us! Let me explain. The microwave dinners made it easy to pop a tray of a pre-selected meal, set the timer, and voila! you have a meal. No one says it is better than mom’s cooking, but it is edible! Air fryers do have you prep the food for cooking and similarly we hear “It taste good!”.
It is all convenient and doesn’t require much thought and we are honestly happy that it is edible. The big family meals, however, are still so important that we put the effort into making the meal and all agree it was worth it!
Treat your life and finances like a big holiday family meal! Where is your money now and how is it working towards your life goals? Do you have a plan to save money now? Do you have a plan to have retirement money? Do you have all your eggs in one basket, or do you have multiple places where you have your money invested?
Second Step: Have commitments
Commitments come from understanding “We are putting $1000 a month away for our future” AND “Nothing gets in the way of that savings”.
There are stages of commitment:
Survive: This is where we become aware that we want to shift and assess where we are.
Dream: What are your Goals. That perfect life you see ahead of you! CREATE Your Life!
Vision: Take your dream and take the steps it will take to get there.
Achieve: Arriving at your first mile marker that you are where you wanted to be!
Take the time to consider what you want and set a vision to get there. Simply saying “I am going to save an extra $500 a month” has no teeth! Saying I am saving $500 a month so that in 5 years from now I have $30,000 for “Fill in your goal”. Now you have a reason to save.
Third step: Do it!
Yes… Encouragement! Get going on your plan. No one is going to Manage your wealth better than you! Your stockbroker, insurance agent, your CPA, your Tax Attorney are all your assistant managers. YOU are the manager.
Wherever you are on the stages of commitment, let’s move to the next stage!
